For indigenous and First Nations peoples, the tomahawk was more than a handy tool or weapon. Before a tribe decided whether or not to go to war, a red tomahawk would be placed at the feet of the chief. After some deliberation, the chief would either raise the tomahawk to declare war, or cover it in dirt, opting for peace. Hence the now commonplace phrase, "bury the hatchet."

Available in Sterling Silver and Stainless Steel.

There may be small differences between the pictured sterling silver piece and its stainless steel counterpart. The steel pieces may have slightly less detail than the handcrafted silver version.
